Celebration Park!!

What an exciting day we had today!! I was lucky enough to go on a field trip with Zac and the rest of Miss Schwartz's class to Celebration Park! I had never been there before and it was so much fun!
First we went on a tour to see the petroglyphs.
Our guide was amazing and he showed us many of the pictures and told us what some of their theories were for what they meant. He also gave us some general history for the area. It was so fascinating!
Then we went to try our hand at the Atlatl. How have I never heard this before? When you throw a spear with your hand the front doesn't go as fast as it could because of how you throw it. So you us an Atlatl and it makes it go faster. Crazy huh?! The girl who helped was sooo nice! Also if you hit the Mammoth target you got a dollar and guess who hit it?? Yep me! Crazy! Anyway the kids all had a great time and it was Miss Schwartz's favorite part of the day!
Next we had a great guy telling us about life in the area from the Ice Age on and it was amazing! We saw fossils and arrowheads and hunting techniques! He told it in such a way that you were learning but having fun! One thing that stuck in the kids' mind was how much a hammer was a hunting tool back when!
After lunch we took a walk up to Guffy Bridge. The stories they told were so cool and the things that happened! My family is all very into history and the stuff was just so cool. We can't wait to take Steve back!
Well, speaking of Steve, he says he wants to eat dinner with me so I must go!
Chow for now!

Weekend Update!

I am cooking some hamburger for our dinner (good ol' yummy burritos!) and so I thought I would take a minute to say hi! We had a pretty mellow weekend. I got a head cold and was kinda yucky on Friday, pretty miserable on Saturday and still not great on Sunday. But I woke up this morning able to breath and feeling much more up to snuff.

Cory had football on Friday at Bishop Kelly! We all went and cheered him on. He had some great catches!

Then Saturday we were off to Mountain Home for Zac! We Won Our Game! Yeah Vikings! The boys played really hard and Zac was in the whole game! I was so proud of him. He played center, running back and on the line for offense and defense. Yeah Zac!

Looks like my hunka hunka burnin' love might not be going to Arkansas which I have to say doesn't make me all that sad! I am soooo spoilt!

Jamie was going to come over for dinner yesterday but I wasn't up to snuff and she has a TON of homework so she stayed home. I promised she could come over soon and I will cook for her!

Well the timer is going off so I must go before I burn it! I am awful! I have to set a timer for a reason! Anyways I have to make sure we are ready for our field trip tomorrow! We are off to Celebration Park! I hope everyone is well!

THE PROMISED UPDATE!

Where to begin?? Lets take a look back at the end of school year and the summer.....Zac and Cory played baseball. They both did really great and it was a lot of fun to watch.
Zac and I took a short trip up to Cascade in June to watch Jessica, Bailey and Josh play softball and baseball. We took lots of great pics and got to relax and hang out!!
Zac took swim lessons again this year! I am so proud of him. Due to his parents lack of interest he was behind for his age but between this year and last year he is doing soooo great!! Now he can save me!!

In July we invited Chrissy to go to the park with the 3 of us to see "Hotel For Dogs". We brought our lawn chairs, blankets and snacks and camped out and had some fun! What a relaxing time!

Josh and Jessica came down the end of July and spent some time with us. Jess stayed a few nights with us and then went to visit Chrissy. Josh stayed for about 2 weeks. He and Zac had such a great time! They played football, video games and went to Boys and Girls Club. Zac loved the B & G Club this summer. It was just the something different he needed this summer.

Cory participated in Bam Jam in August. That's a 3 on 3 basketball tournament that goes on downtown. Unfortunately he, Sarah, Chelsey and Dustin were far better than the rest so it wasn't much of a contest. But it was a lot of fun to watch them and we watched the slam dunk contest too. It was pretty great. The kid who won had a guy sit at a table and eat while he jumped over him and the table and dunked the ball. He was totally cool!! It was a fun weekend!

Jamie stayed very busy this summer. She was working so much we didn't see her a lot but she did manage to come to the water park with us a few times. Then she came to stay with us for a bit while she looked for apartments. We loved having her here! Zac especially had a fun time while she was here. He loved seeing her and hanging out with her all the time. Steve also but he wasn't as vocal about it. I loved hearing her go on and on every night about her day. I miss that. Now she is back in school and has her own apartment so haven't seen her as much but we are proud of her!

Football practice started in August. We have a new coach this year and some new and some old teammates. It was hottttttttt!!! for the first few weeks but is not so bad now. Zac is having fun and we have now had a couple of games. Kelly, Jamie, Casey, Grandma Rose, Grandpa, April, Jeff, Jessica, Bailey, Josh and Christopher have all come to watch. He thinks it is so cool when people come to watch! Thanks to everyone who has made it! Now we do homework, go to school, go to football practice, go to games and that is about it! But Zac is growing up so fast! He is such a great kid.... we are soooo lucky.

Cory is playing now too. He is still a wide receiver and helping on defense but this year he has started kicking the ball more too. He has kicked a few field goals and pat's and has been doing most of the kick offs. Oh and last week he was in the Homecoming Court. He was named the Duke! It was cute! We don't see much of him but he came to Grandma's last week and we played spoons and football! Fun was had by all. I can't believe he is a grown up senior now. Crazy!

So lastly, my husband and I. We are doing fine. Working, going to sports and a little fun here and there. The typical adult life I guess. But we have each other and our great family so I would say we are above average in the lucky area. Life is pretty great most day! Except today my hubby is in Eastern Idaho for work and they want him to go away for 2 weeks. Now I know some people do this all the time (Debbie and Christine!) but I am very used to my husband being home and VERY involved so I am a little freaked out. We will see how it goes but I am not going to be happy probably.

There are things I am sure I missed but now you are caught up! I will get you some pics and I will do better! Welcome back!

WHERE DOES THE TIME GO?

So I am sitting here wandering through websites and I remember my long lost blog. Last year it was a way for me to share pictures, thoughts and moments with my friends and family. But over the summer I turned to facebook. Yes, I admitted it. I have spent more time with my facebook then my blog. But I have decided that there are many big and small moments that don't make it on facebook that I want to share. So here is my vow......I, Tammy Holm, do vow to keep my blog updated. To share the moments that in some ways may only be important to some but are all important to me.....starting tomorrow!! ;-) So look for email updates!!
