we cheated.....ssshhhhh

Ok I have to be off to work but first I must admit.....we cheated. Zack and I were headed up to bed about 10 last night. Steve, Jamie and our friend Kelly were going to watch Saw 4 before heading out to the midnight opening of Saw 5. I got online to find out what time HSM3 was playing on Friday. Zack is off school and I thought since I was getting off early we would go see it on Friday before we went with everyone else on Saturday. He was bummed we weren't seeing it on opening day like we had discussed. Well while looking for movie times we found out they had a midnight show. Now I was ready for bed. Looking forward to curling up with Zack watching a little HSM2 getting ready for Saturday when we are seeing HSM3 with lots of friends and family. He was so excited to be like the adults and go to a MIDNIGHT MOVIE! So we watched the end of HSM2 and then hopped in the car and off to the midnight show of HSM3!! It was really fun. He was so cute and the movie is REALLY good. I will admit my eyes were a little blurry and I am excited to see it again when I am more awake. It has just made me more excited to see it again. If you know me you know I love my musicals and this was just the fix I needed!! I am now going to listen to my High School Musical 3 CD and get ready for round 2!! But for now Zack thinks I am the coolest mom and I will take that!

What a nice Sunday!!

Today was nice. Nothing exciting. Nothing amazing. Just nice. Jamie and Cory were both here. All 3 of the kids played some video games, Jamie and Zack went for a couple of walks, I took a bath, read my book, did the dishes. It was nice. Then Steve got home from work and we went to mom and dad's for lunch. We had sandwiches and veggies and sat around and chatted. The boys went outside and played catch and Jamie and the dog ran around in the yard too. It was nice. Then the older kids headed for the house and we took Zack basketball shoe shopping. We were successful and Zack has some cool new shoes. Then we came home and Steve and Cory played some video games. Zack and Jamie's dog Lexy played and I did some laundry. Then Cory headed home and we all ate some dinner and watched football. It was very nice. Now Zack is off to bed and Lexy (who is sleeping over tonight) is resting on the floor. Steve and I are watching some tv and doing some laundry (does that ever end??). What a nice day.
Oh just a shout out for Jamie, the Raiders won today!! Amazing!!

Friday night we cruised out to Emmett to watch Cory play against Columbia. We arrived at half time and to our surprise we had a 14 to 14 tied game! We were so excited (of course we missed Cory's touchdown!)this was one of the closest games we've had. They came out after half time and played really hard, Cory had a lot of great plays and Kenny had blocked an extra point, but unfortunately it ended the same as all our other games this year with a loss. Final score 27 to 21.
Then Saturday morning dawned to us preparing for Zack's last game of the season. Zack was so excited to see big brother Cory there!! It was beautiful weather for our last game!! Sunny and warm. After last weeks snow storm we were all prepared for the cold so we were peeling off the layers very early into the game!! We had 2 touchdowns! The boys played very hard but it was a rough game!! The other team was not only bigger and faster but kind of mean!! We powered through though! Later in the day we had a pizza party and the boys all got trophies!! Zack's is proudly displayed on the fireplace!! He played so great this year and we are so proud of him!! So football is over........... and basketball begins!! Practice starts Monday and games start in 2 weeks!! Yeah basketball!!

So this week has been Steve and his dad's yearly week to fish, hunt and whatever they feel like doing. They decided this year unless something jumped out at them they weren't going to hunt. Instead they would concentrate on fishing. That was very successful for them. They came home the first day with 118 croppy and this morning with 182. Fish anyone?? They pulled an all-nighter last night and did some night fishing. They were both exhausted but I think they had fun. They have decided to take a night off and then tomorrow they are going to catch a movie instead.

brrrr it's cold!!

As we prepared for Cory's game on Friday night I looked out the window at the snow (yes you heard me SNOW) and wind and the thought ran through my head, "Do I really love Cory this much?" Of course I do so we put on our sweatshirts and winter coats, gloves and stocking caps. We headed out the door on our way to Middleton. By the time we arrived the snow had turned to rain and the wind had died down. We sat on our chairs so our behinds were not frozen. We put up the umbrella so we weren't as wet and we cheered and cheered and cheered!!
So jump ahead to Saturday morning!! We rise at 6:45am so as to be ready and at the field by 8am. We turn on channel 7 and to our happy surprise we hear the rain and snow are gone. Now on the other side it is only 31 degrees outside and it will be "breezy". We dealt with snow, we can do "breezy"!! After Friday night I prepare for the worst. We all have our 2 pairs of socks, sweatshirts, long johns and many other layers on including gloves, hats and winter coats. We make sure Zack can move in his outfit (he is playing football!!) and out the door we go. Now our friend Kelly is coming to watch the game as is Jamie. I warn both of them it will be cold. We get there and Kelly is in a sweatshirt duh!! Jamie looks cute butttttt...... she ended up with a scarf and other accessories that weren't just cute. But Zack was so excited to have them there. We have been very lucky to have so many friends and family come watch this year and if I haven't mentioned it before THANK YOU SO MUCH!! It makes it a little more special.
The boys played really hard. We even got a touchdown!!! We were all so proud! But as the game went on the "breeze" picked up!! It was freezing!! Our eyes were watering from the sting of the "breeze"!! The boys were taking turns warming up on the sidelines and shivering on the field. Finally the game was over and we all headed for home. Some of the boys were so cold they were crying!! Poor kids!! I would like to point out though that Zack said he wasn't really cold except his face and hands (through his gloves) and the same was true for Steve and I!!! We may have looked funny but we were warm by golly!! I finally didn't overdue in the preperation department!!
Winter is definitely on its way!! So I am going to get all our winter stuff out today!! (Of course that means it will be 80 degrees again soon!!!)

This week.............

..........we were busy as usual. We had football practice and work as usual. Cory had a game Thursday night. He played really hard. We were so proud of him. He looked so tired. Zack had school but it was a short week for him. So I took off Friday and Zack and I met up with Koli, Patty, Nathan and Jack. We all went to McDonalds and then to the park. The boys climbed rocks, played football and we ladies got to have a nice chat. It was a fun afternoon.
Then Zack and I went to help Amber get ready for her birthday party. We did her hair and make up and took her shopping. She looked pretty dang good if I do say so myself.
Saturday Zack had a game in Mountain Home. We only had 8 players so the boys played every second of the game. They played so hard and we had 2 touchdowns. Way to go team!! It was a great game.
Today we went to Mom and Dad's for lunch for Amber's birthday. We got to meet Jamie's new puppy (yes Lexy is only 10 months old). Jamie looked so pretty today too. Not that she isn't always beautiful but today she just seemed to have an extra kick.
After we were all full the boys headed home and Steve and I went downtown to take Ashley's senior's pictures. Steve did such a great job even though it does make it easier that she is so beautiful. Haven't had time to do anything to them but I am including a few sneak peeks!
Well I think you are all caught up on our exciting week and we have some pics so you can see it through our eyes.
