As we prepared for Cory's game on Friday night I looked out the window at the snow (yes you heard me SNOW) and wind and the thought ran through my head, "Do I really love Cory this much?" Of course I do so we put on our sweatshirts and winter coats, gloves and stocking caps. We headed out the door on our way to Middleton. By the time we arrived the snow had turned to rain and the wind had died down. We sat on our chairs so our behinds were not frozen. We put up the umbrella so we weren't as wet and we cheered and cheered and cheered!!
So jump ahead to Saturday morning!! We rise at 6:45am so as to be ready and at the field by 8am. We turn on channel 7 and to our happy surprise we hear the rain and snow are gone. Now on the other side it is only 31 degrees outside and it will be "breezy". We dealt with snow, we can do "breezy"!! After Friday night I prepare for the worst. We all have our 2 pairs of socks, sweatshirts, long johns and many other layers on including gloves, hats and winter coats. We make sure Zack can move in his outfit (he is playing football!!) and out the door we go. Now our friend Kelly is coming to watch the game as is Jamie. I warn both of them it will be cold. We get there and Kelly is in a sweatshirt duh!! Jamie looks cute butttttt...... she ended up with a scarf and other accessories that weren't just cute. But Zack was so excited to have them there. We have been very lucky to have so many friends and family come watch this year and if I haven't mentioned it before THANK YOU SO MUCH!! It makes it a little more special.
The boys played really hard. We even got a touchdown!!! We were all so proud! But as the game went on the "breeze" picked up!! It was freezing!! Our eyes were watering from the sting of the "breeze"!! The boys were taking turns warming up on the sidelines and shivering on the field. Finally the game was over and we all headed for home. Some of the boys were so cold they were crying!! Poor kids!! I would like to point out though that Zack said he wasn't really cold except his face and hands (through his gloves) and the same was true for Steve and I!!! We may have looked funny but we were warm by golly!! I finally didn't overdue in the preperation department!!
Winter is definitely on its way!! So I am going to get all our winter stuff out today!! (Of course that means it will be 80 degrees again soon!!!)
Happy New Year!
